This wall art brings together authentic Japanese boro textiles, each fragment chosen and restored by hand in my Brooklyn studio. Over 200 hours went into carefully assembling and stitching these pieces, a process that honors both the material’s history and the art of slow making. This piece blends history and texture, repurposing a deconstructed noragi work jacket and mid-1800s to early-1900s patches. Rich textures, bold contrasts, and unique patterns tell stories of wear and resilience. This piece is a homage to the beauty of imperfection, the passage of time, and the signs that an object has been used and enjoyed in everyday life. Stretched on premium Museo ALU-frame stretcher bars for a sleek, museum-quality finish. A perfect fusion of wabi-sabi aesthetics and modern craftsmanship.
Measures 43" wide x 44" high x 2" deep.
