Drift

Drift is made from a beautiful variety of patches dating from the mid-late 1800s to early 1900s with contrasting, muted colors and a very satisfying amount of distress. This piece is a homage to the beauty of imperfection, the passage of time, and the signs that an object has been used and enjoyed in everyday life.

The fragments used for this work were in very poor condition with many holes and it's very satisfying to have repaired and brought them together to be enjoyed anew. Sewn with antique homespun flax thread from the 1800s to ensure a harmonious blending. 

Drift was made in 2022 and measures 54.5" x 54.5" 2".  It's stretched on premium Museo ALU-frame stretcher bars for a clean, simple presentation.
