Antique Edo Japanese Boro Indigo Katazome Checkered Pillow

Add something unique to your home with this pillow made from antique Japanese indigo katazome (resist-dyed) fabric with a very rare checkered pattern. I'm in awe every time I think of the work that a Japanese artisan put into precisely applying paste to every one of the white checks to make the checkered pattern. Out of all the Japanese textiles I've collected over the past several years, this is my favorite.

Pillow with insert measures 9" high x 17.5" wide.

Cover alone also measures 9" x 17.5".

Comes with a 12" x 21" insert with a 100% cotton cover and 100% polyester filling.

Antique exterior checkered fabric is backed with heavy-weight cotton canvas for reinforcement.

Inside pillow edges are sewn with over-locking stitches for further durability.

Invisible zipper hidden in seam for easy removal as needed.

4 patched holes with sashiko stitched repairs.
