The primary chrysanthemum pattern of this pillow is one of my favorites. In Japanese culture, chrysanthemums represent longevity and rejuvenation. Bring timeless beauty to your home with this antique Japanese indigo katazome (resist-dyed) pillow. One side has two hand-sewn patches of chrysanthemums in a different pattern.
Pillow comes with cover and insert.
- Cover alone measures 11" high x 17" wide.
- Pillow cover with 12" x 21" insert (as pictured) measures 11" high x 17" wide x approximately 4" deep. Insert has a cotton cover and 100% polyester fill.
Antique exterior katazome fabric is backed with heavy-weight new cotton canvas for reinforcement.
Inside pillow edges are sewn with over-locking stitches for further durability.
Invisible zipper hidden in seam for easy removal as needed.
One small hand-repaired, sashiko stitched area measuring approximately 1/4".
Some uneven fading reflecting this beautiful textile's age and history
