Bloom Again

Boom Again is a pillow I made from antique Japanese katazome fabric with an indigo-dyed phoenix and peonies pattern in orange and grey. I wanted to let that pattern carry the piece.
The antique fabric is backed with sturdy canvas, and I finished it with a hidden zipper so the insert can be removed easily.
The pillow itself measures 33" × 11". I like the way the 34" × 14" down alternative insert gives it its shape and presence. The insert has a cotton cover and poly fill.
