Skybound

Skybound has a nice sense of movement to it. I made it from antique Japanese katazome fabric with a repeating crane and dot pattern on one side, and a contrasting lotus flower patch on the other.

The indigo-dyed fabric is backed with durable canvas, and I finished it with a hidden zipper to keep the piece clean and easy to live with.

This one measures 23.5" × 11.5", and I paired it with a 26" × 14" down insert that gives it a fuller profile.

Scripted is made from beautifully faded antique Japanese tsutsugaki fabric from the early 1900s. What gives this piece its character is the Japanese script across the surface.
