Large Antique Japanese Tsutsugaki Phoenix Boro Patchwork Pillow

Large pillow made from antique Japanese indigo tsutsugaki dyed cotton with a stately Phoenix.

The opposite side features striped indigo cotton fabric with a plaid zanshi patch.

Both sides have a couple of original repairs and patches with sashiko stitching added by me.

Pillow comes with cover and insert. 
- Cover alone measures 21.5" high x 21.5" wide.
- Pillow cover with 28" x 28" insert (as pictured) measures 21.5" high x 21.5" wide x approximately 6" deep. Insert has a cotton cover and 65% polyester and 35% cotton fill.

Antique fabric is backed with heavy-weight cotton canvas for reinforcement.

Inside pillow edges are serged with over-locking stitches to prevent fraying.

Zippered closure.

The antique fabric has some areas of slight discoloration along the seams of the phoenix reflecting its age and history.
