Chrysanthemum

Chrysanthemum

Chrysanthemum uses antique Japanese katazome cotton naturally dyed with indigo and patterned with chrysanthemums. That motif is what first drew me to the fabric.

I made this face mask in my Brooklyn studio from two layers of antique 100% cotton. It includes an opening in the lining for a filter, an opening at the upper back for a nose bridge, and comes with a removable nose bridge, soft elastic cord, an adjustable toggle, and a sheet of sterilization cloth for an extra layer.

It measures about 9.5" across and 5.5" from nose to chin and was designed to fit many adult male sizes.

Katazome is a Japanese method of dyeing fabric with a resist paste applied through a stencil.
