Tiger Flame
Acquired
Tiger Flame turns on a rare repeating tiger pattern in antique Japanese katazome and safflower-dyed cotton. That side has a lot of energy to it. On the reverse, I used an indigo fragment with Asian characters, and added patches along with sashiko-style embellishment of my own.
This one has a compact scale, though the 20" × 20" insert gives it a fuller depth of about 6". The cover itself measures 15" × 15", and the insert has a cotton cover with 100% polyester fill.
I backed the antique fabric with new heavyweight cotton canvas for reinforcement and finished the inside edges with overlocking stitches for durability.
